About us

Legal advice for South Australians since 1914

Our story

Strachan Carr has served South Australians for over 100 years. We have significant experience in the areas of Wills & Estate Planning, Deceased Estates, Conveyancing and Civil & Commercial Litigation.

Because of our lengthy history, we have attracted clients seeking stability, experience and consistency in their legal advice. Notwithstanding our history, we are alert to modern developments in law and are ready and able to adapt to change, and modify the manner in which our practice is conducted.

The firm also has extensive experience in the administration of various Trusts set up for support of family members over a number of years. We have enjoyed a wide ranging practice in commercial and civil litigation in a number of areas (partnership, contractual, farming disputes). Other clients have included a past Premier of the State, an AFL coach, and we have acted as solicitors for an Anglican Diocese.

Strachan Carr commenced in 1997 with then partners John Strachan and Jeff Carr. In 2005 Strachan Carr merged with Murray & Cudmore, a well known South Australian legal firm operating since 1914.
